Title 1 School-Parent/Student Compact

Under Every Student Succeeds Act, each Title I school jointly develops with parents a school - student-parent compact that outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the way in which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve the State's high standards.

As a school, we will:

• Provide a high-quality effective learning environment that is safe and that enables the student to meet the State's student academic achievement standards.
• Provide open communication between teachers and parents through various means of communication such as parent-teacher-student conferences, provision of teacher email addresses, Class Dojo, newsletters, PowerSchool, student agendas, and teacher/school web pages.
• Provide opportunities for parents to volunteer and participate in their child's classroom activities, chaperone field experiences, attend monthly parent academies, PTSO, SAC, and Title I meetings and school family nights.
• Provide a mutually respectful relationship between all parties (students, parents, teachers, and volunteers).
• Provide highly qualified teachers as outlined by Florida statutes.
• Provide frequent updates on student academic progress

As a parent, I will:

• Support my child's learning by ensuring that he/she has proper rest and nutrition and attends school on time and regularly.
• Support my child's learning by reading with him/her nightly for 20 minutes or ensuring my middle school child is reading a minimum of 30 minutes a night.
• Support my child's class/school by meeting the parent volunteer requirements (10 hours per year).
• Gain access to the school's grading portal and access my child's grades weekly, then immediately
• Help set a positive tone for learning and all entities of the school with my child.
• Participate in decisions relating to the education of my child through a mutually respectful relationship with all staff members of the school.
• Provide a mutually respectful relationship between all parties (students, parents, teachers, and volunteers).
• Provide time and adequate space for homework completion.
• Follow up with teachers when I have questions or concerns.

As a student, I will:

• Proudly follow the behavioral expectations taught at our school (PARR) and follow all directives given to me by the teachers and administration of the school.
• Ask questions in a timely manner when I am not sure about a lesson or an assignment or have been absent and need to make up work.
• Make good choices like paying attention in class, staying on task, doing my best, and working hard at my schoolwork.
• Be the very best "WBA Bobcat" that I can be each and every day in order to excel to my greatest level of success
• See something, Say something! I will report, to an adult at the school, any incidents that I deem or am taught is an unsafe situation immediately.
